She's currently wrapping up her July residency at Bowery Electric, playing tonight (joined by members of Ani DiFranco's touring band) and July 29. Tickets are $10...hard to beat that!
Some background on Correia: She bummed around town, penning tunes alongside greats like Jeff Buckley, Paula Cole, Jesse Harris and Rebecca Martin - unsurprisingly, she got a major label deal and toured around the country with John Hiatt, Richard Thompson and Keb Mo. Two albums later, she went the indie route and self-released her third album, "You Go Your Way," which she paid for using $37,000 that her fans raised. Hit up her residency dates and that's what you'll be hearing.

Emo kings Jimmy Eat World have announced that their new album, "Invented," will hit stores on Sept. 28th. For those keeping score, the album was produced by Mark Trombino, who did their amazing 2001 album, "Bleed American," as well as earlier works "Static Prevails" and "Clarity."
The first single, "My Best Theory," will start spinning on radio next month.
"Invented" marks the first new release since 2007's "Chase This Light," which gave them their highest chart position of their lifetimes - No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. The guys took a breather while recording "Invented" to celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Clarity" with a special all-"Clarity," all the time tour.

Avenged Sevenfold debuted the music video for their latest single, "Nightmare," over the weekend. At five minutes long, you'd think they pretty much covered everything they needed to...but no. There's more! A full minute extra!
So here's the full-length, un-edited video. Good news folks: The creepy, hallucino-fisheyes from "Bat Country" are back!

On an unrelated note: It's strange seeing A7X as a foursome, isn't it? They must think so too...they look pretty darned unhappy about it in this press photo.

Finally, a release date for American Bang's self-titled debut album - Aug. 31! And, to celebrate, the band (and Reprise Records) have released a new music video for "Wild and Young," an excellent Southern rocking ode to stopping and smelling the roses.

"Angel" fans have long known that Christian Kane has a mighty fine voice and a way with a ballad. Now, it's time for "Leverage" fans to find out the same thing for themselves.
At the end of this coming Sunday's episode, "The Studio Job" (July 18), Kane - who plays "hitter" Eliot Spencer - will perform his real-life single, "Thinking of You." (Immediately after the episode, you'll be able to download the track on iTunes.)
The song, says Kane, "is a passionate, heartfelt good-bye kiss that also sort of slaps the person in the face to say that even if they hate you they will never forget they loved you."
I'm just going to go ahead and assume that the song will make the final cut for his upcoming full-length album due out this October. For a taste of what you can expect, download the first single, "The House Rules," for free
here. (Do it, you won't regret it - it's a really fun, boot-stompin', country, party track.)
And, if you like that, you can buy his five song EP, which is acting as a stop gap until the CD comes out. The EP has already reached No. 5 on Billboard's Heatseeker's Chart and No. 3 on the iTunes Country Chart.
And, if you like
that, then you should do everything in your power to track down a copy of his original album, "Kane." It's been out of print for years, but songs like "Oklahoma State of Mind," "Sweet Carolina Rain" and "Crazy in Love" are well worth the effort.
Don't forget to stay tuned for "The House Rules" music video, directed by "Leverage" co-star Timothy Hutton. It'll be debut later this summer. I've also heard tell of a radio tour happening once Kane wraps up filming on "Leverage," which might just include a stop in NYC...

There are two versions of music videos for Christian TV's single, "
When She Turns 18" - the sexy one and the sexier one.
This should come as no surprise considering the 24-year-old from Detroit City is telling a parent (through eminently danceable song) that the nanosecond his/her daughter turns 18, he will be bumping uglies with her.
One of the two videos is soooo hot that concerned YouTube users have flagged one copy of it as being inappropriate for those under 18.
Here's the "sanitized" version:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-aadGXt_Sa4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-aadGXt_Sa4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
And here's the "whoa" version (consider yourself warned, as of right now, it hasn't been flagged as too hot too handle):
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yQvGX1IWL7o&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yQvGX1IWL7o&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Having watched these videos, aren't you totally curious about what kind of video treatment a song like "Generation Sex" (off Christian's forthcoming debut album) is going to get?
If you like "When She Turns 18," the song's yours free
here...in exchange for your e-mail address, of course.

blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus is set to host a new show for Fuse this fall, called "A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus.”
The hour-long weekly show will feature interviews with different musicians and celebrities, alongside performances by both mainstream and emerging bands. It'll also include music news, panel discussions and "special reports" from series correspondents.
Sounds like an amped up new take on Fuse's old "Steven's Untitled Rock Show," which I can definitely get behind. Plus, it's Mark Hoppus, who is hilarious and sure to be a highly entertaining, wacky host.

First up, it's
Hypernova's "Fairy Tales" off their debut album, "
Through the Chaos." The Iranian band's specialty is alt-pop mixed with melodic dance rock, with a bit of the Middle Eastern thrown in.
Get the track
here.
Now, it's time for
Veil Veil Vanish's "Anthem for a Doomed Youth," the first single off the group's full-length debut, "
Change in the Neon Light." It's a dark-pop track from a sunny San Francisco band. Like what you hear? Good news: They're in town, playing
Lit Lounge on Sunday(June 20).

The stream, which you can watch

here(depending on your preferred network affiliation) begins at 10:30 p.m. EST.
Tuesday (June 21), "Rock Band" fans will be able to get some Miley action too, with the "Miley Cyrus Pack 01." It features playable versions of “Can’t Be Tamed,” “7 Things,” “Fly on the Wall,” “See You Again” and “Start All Over.”
No, I can't explain what's going on in the promo picture/album cover art above either. I think she's going for "sexy," but it just looks pouty...in the childish, Mommy-why-can't-I-have-the-pony way. It's also a little Britney Spears circa 2001.
