Add one more person to the list of people upset at LeBron James.
Nets minority owner and rap mogul Jay-Z was frustrated with James ignoring him when the star was deciding which team to sign with,
Media Take Out reports.
"Jay Z was supposed to be able to bring stars to [the New Jersey] Nets - or at least have access to them,” a source close to Jay-Z told the website. “[During the time that LeBron was making his decision] he didn't even take [Jay Z's] calls. It made [Jay Z] look like he couldn't deliver to the Nets management.”
Jay-Z was a part of the Nets contingent that flew to Ohio to meet with James when making his decision. But the Nets were never the favorite to land James, who decided to join friends Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with the Heat.

Statisticians have made a change to Mickey Mantle's 1961 stats.
Don't worry; Maris is still the home run champ. But now Maris is also the leader in runs scored during that magical season.
A researcher discovered that in a Sept. 10 game against Cleveland, Mantle was credited with two runs when, in fact, he only scored one. He was incorrectly credited with a run that should have gone to first baseman Bill "Moose" Skowron.
With the change made, Mantle's run tally that season now stands at 131, while Skowron gets the run and 77 on the season. This means Maris, with 132, is now the sole league leader in runs scored in 1961.

Now that Al Harrington has officially moved on from the Knicks and signed with the Nuggets, he was happy to take some shots at his former team.
Harrington had this to say
to The Post last week:
"I guess they could be better, but I don't think they're better than the team we had last year," Harrington said. "That's my opinion. You never know. They got Bill Walker, he could get better, Gallo [Danilo Gallinari] could get better. So it could be better but I don't think so."
At first, I thought sour grapes since he took some good shots at D’Antoni, too. But let’s take a look at the roster the Knicks started last season with and the one they will likely bring out on the floor this October.
That is unless they can acquire Chris Paul.
Point guard: Raymond Felton vs. Chris Duhon
Felton is looking forward to stretching his legs in D’Antoni’s run-and-gun offense after being held back in Larry Brown’s slower style with the Bobcats. And he seems like an upgrade from the inconsistent Duhon, who was shuffled in and out of D’Antoni’s lineup last season.
This seems like the position where the Knicks made the most drastic improvement, but watching how the Magic’s Jameer Nelson dominated Felton in the first round of the playoffs is cause for worry. Duhon is now in Orlando as Nelson’s backup, where he somehow was able to wrangle a four-year, $15 million contract.
Advantage: New Knicks
Shooting guard: Wilson Chandler vs. Wilson Chandler
Chandler struggled at the start of last season when he was returning from offseason ankle surgery. Unfortunately he needed another ankle operation this offseason, so the Knicks will have to hope this won't affect him too much.
Chandler is at his best when he’s going to the basket or shooting open threes, but gets in trouble when he tries to create on his own and forces pull-up jumpers.
Advantage: Draw
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="http://static.polldaddy.com/p/3512783.js"></script> <noscript> <a href="http://polldaddy.com/poll/3512783/">How many games will the Knicks win this year?</a><span style="font-size:9px;"><a href="http://polldaddy.com/features-surveys/">survey software</a></span> </noscript>
Small forward: Danilo Gallinari vs. Danilo Gallinari
Believe it or not Jared Jeffries opened last season as the Knicks starter at small forward, but Gallinari quickly took over and started 74 games.
Back problems limited Gallinari to 28 games in his rookie, but he just missed one last year while averaging 15 points a game. He should only improve in his third season.
Advantage: New Knicks
Power forward: Anthony Randolph vs. Al Harrington
Harrington is a nice player, but wasn’t the perfect fit for D’Antoni’s system. Randolph fits better and has shown potential, but foot injuries limited him to 33 games and eight starts last season.
Randolph was the crucial piece in the sign-and-trade that sent David Lee to Golden State and will be key if the Knicks want to be in the playoff picture this year. We want to see Randolph for a couple of months before giving him the nod over Harrington.
Advantage: Old Knicks
Center: Amar’e Stoudemire vs. David Lee
Both are more power forwards then centers, but if Stoudemire works as hard as Lee did and stays healthy then he is a definitive upgrade. But those are two big ifs and the two reasons the Knicks were the only team to offer Stoudemire a max contract.
The knee and eye problems have been discussed at length and the Knicks will have to get lucky in that respect, but the motivation part is up to Stoudemire. Some were concerned that he wouldn’t be motivated with a $100 million contract signed. The Knicks have to hope he proves those naysayers wrong.
Lee now gets to pair with Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry with the Warriors trying to turn that team into a playoff threat in the stacked Western Conference.
Advantage: New Knicks
Sixth man: Kelenna Azubuike vs. Nate Robinson
Azubuike will try to bring the same spark off the bench that Robinson did when he was seeing eye-to-eye with D’Antoni. Not quite the shooter that Robinson was, but averaged 14.4 points per game two years ago and was on similar pace last season when he blew out his knee nine games in.
Azubuike’s health concerns is a worry. And he may not have the ability to take over the game the way Robinson was capable of.
Advantage: Old Knicks
Rest of bench
Jared Jeffries, Toney Douglas, Darko Milicic, Larry Hughes, Jordan Hill, Eddy Curry vs. Eddy Curry, Toney Douglas, Timofey Mozgov, Rony Turiaf, Bill Walker, Andy Rautins or Landry Fields
After Robinson there wasn’t much to like from this bunch.
Jeffries was solid on defense, but provided little help on offense.
Douglas contributed late in the season, but wasn’t trusted early. The same could be said about Hill before he was included in a trade to the Rockets.
Larry Hughes made an impact on the court, but was in and out of the rotation. D’Antoni deserves more blame than Hughes for that.
You can also point to D’Antoni for not recognizing that Darko Milicic could contribute off the bench.
Eddy Curry played in seven games before knee problems acted up again.
As the year went on Bill Walker, Earl Barron, Tracy McGrady, Sergio Rodriguez, Eddie House, Jonathan Bender and J.R. Giddens would all provide contributions.
Walker, a throw-in when the Knicks sent Robinson to the Celtics, and Douglas are the only ones coming back this year and the Knicks will be counting on both for increased contributions.
Rony Turiaf is the only known quantity, and will provide toughness and rebounding in the low post — something the Knicks have lacked. He will likely start games to open the season, but don't see him playing in crunch time.
The Russian center, Timofey Mozgov, is a complete mystery and the Knicks can’t expect much from Curry.
And don’t expect the two second-round draft picks — Andy Rautins and Landry Fields — to see much time.
Advantage: Draw
Overall
It comes down to Randolph and Stoudemire. If they stay healthy — and motivated in Stoudemire’s case — then this team is better than last year’s.
It also will help that the specter of LeBron James won’t be hanging over the Garden this season.
There will be a lot of moving parts to put together, but if the Knicks can get off to a decent start (10-10 through 20 games) they can compete for one of the final few spots in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Advantage: New Knicks

Cleveland Cavaliers fans are sending their LeBron James gear to South Beach, something Knicks fans never had the luxury to experience.
Since his notorious "Decision" on July 8, Cavaliers fans have been taking their LeBron James-related items to Yours Truly Restaurants across Ohio as part of a charity program started by Beau Miller and his three friends called
breakupwithlebron.com.
Miller and fellow founders Chris Jungjohann, Andrew De Crane and Tim Zeller wanted to capitalize on LeBron’s widely publicized departure and decided that instead of fans burning their No. 23 jerseys and other memorabilia, which happened on the night of "The Decision," why not donate them to homeless people in LeBron’s new home, Miami.
And Cleveland fans have bought in. Miller says the response has been incredible, especially considering that this isn’t just another movement that is bashing James.
"We wanted something good to come out of this," Miller said.
"We didn't want another 'I hate LeBron campaign.' There's enough of that going around."
Miller and co. aren’t just offering heartbroken fans the option of shipping away their LeBron gear, fans can help their own city by also purchasing "It’s not us, it’s you" shirts for $15, with the proceeds going to the Cleveland City Mission.
Miller even related his charity campaign to a real-life breakup.
"It's like any breakup," Miller said. "You want to give all your stuff back."

No one ever said George Steinbrenner’s Yankees didn’t know how to hold a grudge.
Joe Torre won four World Series and took the Yankees to playoffs in all 12 of his seasons with the team. But Torre left after the 2007 season after receiving what he thought was an insulting incentive-based contract offer from the team’s brass. The new Yankee Stadium holds few reminders of Torre’s dozen years of success, which caught the ire of Tim McCarver yesterday.
“The one they have bungled, in my opinion, is the handling of Joe Torre,”
said the Fox analyst during the fourth inning of Saturday’s Yankees-Rays game.
“Twelve years in a row in postseason, four of those as World Champions, and to me it’s a case of corporate childishness on a part of the Yankees the way they’ve treated Torre since he has left.”
McCarver’s rant against the Yankees management continued with comparisons to Germany following World War II.
“You remember some of those despotic leaders in World War II, primarily in Russia and Germany, where they used to take those pictures that they had ... taken of former generals who were no longer alive, they had shot 'em,” McCarver said. “They would airbrush the pictures, and airbrushed the generals out of the pictures. In a sense, that's what the Yankees have done with Joe Torre. They have airbrushed his legacy. I mean, there's no sign of Joe Torre at the stadium. And, that's ridiculous. I don't understand it.”
Play-by-play man Kenny Albert tried to defend the Yankees by mentioning the book Torre authored, which detailed his time in The Bronx. And McCarver said he believes the Yankees have done some good by Torre.
“To the Yankees credit, Joe Torre’s No. 6 has not been worn since Torre has (left),” McCarver said. “That has got to be resolved. You just can’t ignore a guy who did what Joe Torre did.”

Dan Duquette, GM of the Red Sox from 1994-2002, says information exists that Roger Clemens may have used performance-enhancing drugs "in a significant way."
"I think there's more information and evidence that will show that Roger used performance-enhancing drugs in a significant way,"
Duquette told The Pulse Network.
Duquette was being interviewed about Clemens' return to Fenway Park, whether his Red Sox No. 21 should be retired, and the pitcher's chances for the Hall of Fame. Duquette said five times in 3 minutes that there is more information about Clemens' alleged use that has yet to be revealed.
"I think that there's more that is going to come out between now and the time that the Red Sox and their fans have to decide if they're going to welcome Roger Clemens back," Duquette said.
He later said, "There's some more information that's out there that hasn't been made public. ... There's still the grand jury investigation into Clemens and whether he was truthful during the time that he was testifying with the grand jury.
"And there's a lot of evidence when he was up on Capitol Hill that indicates that he wasn't being straightforward with people."
Duquette did not say what the evidence is.
Duquette let Clemens sign with the Toronto Blue Jays as a free agent in 1996 after 13 seasons in Boston. The right-hander later played for the Yankees and Astros on his way to winning 354 games.

Bill Lee’s hatred of George Steinbrenner did not mellow at all with the Yankees owner’s death Tuesday.
Lee, who pitched for the Red Sox for 10 seasons, ripped Steinbrenner in a TV interview.
“Trust me if hell freezes over, he’ll be skating,” Lee told a reporter for WMUR-9 in Manchester, N.H.
The TV station talked to Lee on a golf course Tuesday afternoon a few hours after Steinbrenner died from a heart attack at 80 years old.
Lee began the 58-second interview by saying, “As far as Steinbrenner’s passing? Good.”
During the 1976 season, Lee famously broke his collarbone during a brawl between the Yankees and Red Sox when Graig Nettles tackled him. Lee said Steinbrenner tried to have him kicked out of the game after the fight.
“Steinbrenner tried to have me banned from baseball,” he said. “He said I was an incompetent and I was bad for the game of baseball. Well, I’m not a convicted felon like George Steinbrenner and he’ll take that to his grave.”
When the reporter asked Lee if he had any sadness about Steinbrenner dying, Lee said, “I have no sadness. I’m Irish; I’m Catholic and when you’re gone, you’re gone.”
Lee, nicknamed “Spaceman,” was known for his quirky ways and counterculture views. He played 14 years in the majors from 1969-82, the last four with the Expos.

We are one week removed from the infamous "Decision" and not only has his one-hour televised debacle become the center of jokes around the nation (see last night's ESPY awards), but it has also inspired some very creative t-shirt ideas.
Now if you thought New Yorkers were mad about LeBron's choice to take his talents to South Beach, think again. New York's animosity towards King James pales in comparison to the level of hatred that has been directed towards James from those with whom he grew up in Cleveland (see Dan Gilbert's note to fans).
A friend of mine sent me a link to
this blog postfrom
Clevescene.com's 64-and-counting sports blog. The outcry against James is so intense, a few clever Clevelanders have designed their own shirts to show their disgust with their former hometown hero.
While some of the shirts are incredibly clever and witty, they could really stick it to James by giving the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club of America.
